Camshaft Dry Belt Drives |

The RCD Camshaft Belt Drive is designed for Circle Track, Drag Racing and the High Performance street market. This drive will dampen power robbing harmonics that transfers between the crank and camshaft. The drive fits standard cam heights Small Block Chevy V8 and V6, Big Block Chevy V8, Dart and Merlin. The belt is 1.25" wide with the Gates HTD YU II® tooth profile. This tooth fits the sprockets with a much closer tolerance which is a major improvement for drives that experience reversing direction and high load change. The wider belt offers 25% more strength and life than other camshaft belt drives. The cam sprocket is hard anodized 7075-T6 aluminum. It bolts to a heat-treated chrome-moly steel cam hub with an eccentric bushing, which allows for 12 degrees of timing adjustment. The cam hub is broached, available in 3/8" or 1/2" hex for driving an oil pump, fuel pump or other accessory off the front of the cam. The cam hub also has a flange that contacts the block thrust-surface on the backside and a steel thrust-plug on the front side. The thrust-plug is threaded into the front cover, sealed with an "O" ring and secured with two pinch bolts. This unique RCD feature allows for precision camshaft endplay adjustment without using shims or spacers. The front cover seals on the block with an "O" ring which extends around and under the oil pan seal eyebrow. The crankshaft sprocket is machined from heat treated chrome-moly steel. |

Our Drive Covers protect the Cam Drive Belt and Sprockets from debris. It is machined to match the contour of the belt to minimize whip. A small removable cover is in the center of the cover to allow camshaft timing adjustment without removing the dampner and cover.
