Camshaft Gear Drives Standard
RCD manufactures a complete line of Camshaft Gear Drives for most applications, delivering unsurpassed quality and performance. Our drives are used on the fastest Hot Rods in the world. All drives contain the standard features noted below along with others that are required for specific applications.

Standard Features:
  • All covers are machined from solid billet 2024-T3 Aluminum.
  • Gears are machined from heat treated 4340 and/or 9310 steel and are finish ground after heat treatment.
  • Crank gears are double keyed 180 degrees.
  • Available in 7, 9 and 11 hole vernier cam hubs and gears for precise cam timing. 7-hole is standard in Alcohol applications, 11-hole is standard in Nitro applications and 9-hole is used for SBC.
  • Idler gears are machined from 9310 steel with outer bearing race machined into the gear for high load roller bearings.
  • The Cam Hub is one piece heat treated chrome-moly steel with two 5/16" dowel pin holes. One 1/4" dowel pin hole and a 5/8" hex for a fuel pump drive. SBC cam hub is 7075-T6.
  • Cam end play is adjusted with precision steel shims from 0.002" to 0.032".
  • All bolts, nuts, studs and keys are heat treated chrome-moly steel.
  • 12 point cam gear bolts.
  • Adjustable TDC pointers. (All except SBC - can use ATI pointer)
  • 'O'-ring seals on all covers, parts and accessories. NO GASKETS!.
