TOOTHED IDLER PULLEYS

Engineers at Gates recommend a toothed idler pulley on synchronous belts with a high load. The teeth on the idler drum help to more evenly distribute the load and keep the belt teeth from compressing against a flat surface. RCD toothed idler pulleys consist of an aluminum drum and press on aluminum flanges with machined tabs to keep the flanges from spinning assembled together over a steel inner spool.
